Australian based Sri Lankan community newspaper 'Serendib News' conducts its Community & Business Awards in October 2006. The awards recognize the achievements of Australian-based Sri Lankans within the arts, commerce, sport and social work. |

Bathiya & Santhush have been nominated for 'Best Entertainers' within the category of 'Successful Sri Lankans Internationally'. Other nominees within this category include Alston Koch, The Channa & Upuli Dance Foundation and Sunil Edirisinghe. 'Sri Lankan Australians are a vibrant and dynamic group of people, so let's give them the respect and honour they deserve' writes Serendib News. Bathiya and Santhush claim they are excited about their nomination. 'It's brilliant to know we have been nominated' says Bathiya 'we will leave it to our fans in Australia to decide if we are worthy of the award'.
